Hello and Welcome!

Hello!  My name is Kat.  I am a stay at home military wife and mom of 4.  I am also a Beachbody coach.  This blog is going to help me document my journey on that latter, while sharing a smattering of the former.

 

I started my journey with Beachbody after the birth of my 3rd child (2nd son).  I wanted to lose the baby weight and my hubby introduced me to TurboFire.  I tried it out and instantly fell in love.  Chalene Johnson was so very energetic and perkey, personable, and right there on my TV screen working out with me.  It was as if I were in her studio working out with her and she were talking directly to me.  The music was upbeat, her words inspirational, the moves challenging but making me want to strive to move forward and get even better.  I finished TurboFire the first time around and wanted more!

 

The next program I tried was ChaLEAN Extreme.  You guessed it, another Chalene workout program.  This one was geared more as P90X for women, by a woman.  It let me lift weights, but still get the cardio and fun music with Chalene.  I loved it.  This time around my hubby joined me.  He was a P90X graduate and some of the moves had him cursing.  I think more from his professed lack of coordination, but he would feel the workouts just as much as I would, so I know it worked for both of us.

 

From there I would do hybrids of TurboFire and ChaLEAN Extreme and off and on try P90X and later P90X 2 with my husband.  I even went so far as to pick up a different Beachbody program, Yoga Booty Ballet BabyBooty when I was pregnant with our 4th child (our 2nd daughter).  Unfortunately I never got to use that one as complications and 9 months of nasty morning sickness kept me bedridden for most of the pregnancy.

 

After our daughter was born, I again turned to Beachbody to lose the weight.  You guessed it, I again started out with TurboFire.  But something felt different.  I wanted something more.  In the meantime I had ordered Les Mills Combat for my hubby since he loves MMA and it is touted as routines used by MMA fighters in training.  Martial arts and boxing all in one, with fun music and great trainers.

 

We started it together, but again his professed lack of coordination made him step away, but I had found a new Soulmate workout.  I loved the pace, the music, the routines.  I would put our daughter in her bouncy seat in front of me, start the DVD and spend the next 30-60 minutes kicking, punching and moving the baby weight off.  Two years later and this program is still in my bag of tricks.

 

I have, however, added a new routine currently.  Last year my fave Trainer Chalene came out with PiYo.  It is a mix of Pilates and Yoga.  Gentle body weight training to help you tone up while slimming down.  I have done 3 complete rounds of PiYo and love, love, love it!

 

Right now, as I type this, I am almost 60 days into a hybrid schedule of PiYo and Combat.  It is a great way to mix up the workouts, keeping my body confused and working.  I feel every workout and love it.  It really is true that I love the pain the next day.  It reminds me that my workouts are working.  That my muscles are changing and growing.  That I am doing something for me.

 

Starting on March 9th I will be doing a 21-day Fix challenge with my hubby and a couple of others.  I will be adding 21-day Fix workouts in the evening with him, while finishing out my current PiYo-Combat hybrid schedule.  I’ll be following the 21-Day Fix meal plan and the workouts with him.  And I will be sharing my results and feedback here as close to every day as I possibly can.

 

So the question becomes, I guess, why follow me?  Why contact me?  Because I want you to join me on the challenge.  Not because I want to make money off of you (though let’s face it, that is a great perk.)  No.  I want you to join me because YOU want to see changes.  Because you want to find your fitness and your health, to find your passion for life again.  I want you to get off the couch, away from the computer, and be the healthiest you that you have been in years.  Not because I said it was what you need to do, but because it is what you in your heart want to do.  If you don’t want it, if you aren’t 100% committed, then you won’t follow through.  That doesn’t do either of us any good.  So, if you think that anything I have said sounds good to you.  If you think any of it applies.  And you want to know more, or you want to join me.  Then please, by all means reach out and I will be here every step of the way cheering you on along your journey.  If it sounds good and you aren’t ready, then please stay.  Come back and see how I am doing.  Follow my story, follow my journey.  And when you are ready to make that step, that commitment, that decision, I will still be here.  In the end, it is each our individual journey.  We may take it together, but we will each see and do different things along the way.  Join me so we can support each other!
